How to apply for a recognition of vocational education?

ENIC/NARIC accepts applications for recognition of vocational education.

If you have completed a vocational education from abroad in a profession that is a regulated profession in Iceland, you can request to have it recognized and be issued a work permit.

1. You send in the application to the ENIC-NARIC office.
2. The application fee is 10.000 ISK. The application fee is non-refundable.
3. The ENIC-NARIC office sends the application to specialists for comments.
4. The ENIC-NARIC office responds to the applicant and sends a copy to the Eastern District Commissioner if a letter of authorisation is to be granted.
5. The District Commissioner issues a licence costing ISK 3800.
6. The application process in whole can take up to three months after all supporting documents have been submitted.
