​You can send your application electronically

  1. ​​If it is possible for us to verify your documents online through an online database, or if your documents include an electronic signature, you can submit your documents here and receive a formal, signed verification of your education. We do not contact your school to get verification of your degree unless we need further information regarding your education.
  2. If you wish to receive an electronic evaluation of your education where it is stated that the evaluation is based on a scanned version of you documents. This electronic evaluation may be used when you provide your educational institution or employer with your educational documents.

If your documents can not be verified online but you still wish to receive a formal, signed statement from us, you need to fill out this application form and then bring to our office, or send by post, a certified copy (or originals) of your educational documents.

Document requirements

Documentation requirement
When you send in an application you must enclose the following documents:

  1. Diploma(s)/certificate(s) in the original language.
  2. Transcript(s), mark sheets or similar list(s) of subjects passed, in the original language. If no such transcript etc. is available, please list in your own words the subjects studied and passed.
  3. Translation of diploma(s)/certificate(s).
  4. Translation of transcript(s), mark sheets or list(s) of subjects passed.
  5. Prior diploma/certificate that you obtained as a basis for the qualification that is to be assessed.
  6. If the name on any of the documents is different from the name you are currently using: Documentation of change of name, e.g. marriage certificate.
  7. If your qualifications have been assessed before: Former assessment(s) or recognition decision(s).

The Icelandic ENIC/NARIC Information Center may ask you for further documentation.
Formal, signed assessment
If you wish to receive a formal, signed assessment from us all educational documents must be digitally verifiable. Otherwise you will have to submit copies of original documents at our office.
​Original documents
The Icelandic ENIC/NARIC Information Center reserves the right to demand the submission of original documents.

If you have qualifications from one of the following countries, you are encouraged to enclose the original documents with your application (instead of certified copies):

The request for original documents is due to the fact that the agency often finds it necessary to ask holders of qualifications from the countries listed above to submit original documents in order to provide sufficient basis for our assessment.
Sending original documents
​In case you send in original documents by post, you must send them by registered letter post (“ábyrgðarbréf”). We always returns original documents by registered post.
Translation requirements
Documents in Danish, Norwegian, Swedish and English require no translation.
By sending the application you certify that the information given in the application is correct and that the enclosures are authentic documents relating to you. The Icelandic ENIC/NARIC Information Center may hand any forged documents to the police.
